Nylon PA6

Polyamide 6 is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic valued for its toughness, wear resistance and ease of processing. We supply it unfilled, glass-fibre and glass-bead reinforced, food-contact certified and with recycled content, plus fine powders for rotational moulding and coating — sourced primarily under our Aquafil Aquamid range, alongside grades from Domo and Poliblend.

PA6 AQUAMID High Viscosity AQL40 NAT

A high-viscosity, unfilled natural PA6 from Aquafil's Aquamid range. The elevated molecular weight gives greater melt strength and toughness than standard-viscosity grades, making it well suited to thicker-wall mouldings and parts where long-term wear performance matters as much as processability.

Typical propertiesDensity ~1.13 g/cm³; high relative viscosity for improved melt strength and toughness; tensile strength and notched impact typical for unfilled PA6 (representative for this grade family, not an exact datasheet figure).
ApplicationsStructural and mechanical components, gears, bearings, cable ties and thicker-section mouldings.
BrandAquafil

PA6 AQUAMID 6AV Natural Unfilled

A general-purpose, standard-viscosity unfilled PA6 injection moulding grade in natural colour, from Aquafil's Aquamid range. A workhorse grade offering the classic balance of stiffness, toughness and wear resistance PA6 is known for, with straightforward processing on standard equipment.

Typical propertiesDensity ~1.13 g/cm³; standard-viscosity injection moulding grade; typical unfilled PA6 tensile strength and impact performance — properties are moisture-sensitive and vary between dry-as-moulded and conditioned states.
ApplicationsGeneral engineering components, housings, clips, fasteners and mechanical parts across automotive and industrial uses.
BrandAquafil

PA6 AQUAMID 30%GF Natural & Black

Glass-fibre reinforced PA6 at 30% loading, available in natural or black, from Aquafil's Aquamid range. Glass reinforcement substantially increases stiffness, tensile strength and heat deflection temperature over unfilled PA6, at some cost to unnotched impact performance — a trade-off moulders commonly accept for structural, load-bearing parts.

Typical propertiesDensity ~1.35 g/cm³ (glass loading raises this over unfilled PA6's ~1.13 g/cm³); markedly higher tensile strength and flexural modulus; HDT typically well above 200°C under load — representative for 30% glass-filled PA6 rather than a specific certified figure.
ApplicationsStructural automotive and under-bonnet brackets, housings, gears and load-bearing mechanical components.

PA6 30% GB Black (Bead)

Glass-bead filled PA6, black, supplied under our Domo nylon range. Spherical glass beads, rather than fibres, give more isotropic shrinkage and lower warpage than fibre-reinforced grades — well suited to parts with tight dimensional tolerances or complex geometry where fibre-orientation effects would otherwise be a problem.

Typical propertiesDensity elevated over unfilled PA6 by the bead loading; more isotropic shrinkage and lower warpage than equivalent glass-fibre grades; stiffness increase more modest than an equivalent fibre loading — figures given are representative for bead-filled PA6, not a specific certified datasheet.
ApplicationsClose-tolerance housings, connectors and components prone to warping in fibre-filled material.
BrandDomo

PA6 50% GF Natural - Food Certified

A high glass-loading (50%) PA6 in natural colour, certified for food contact use, supplied under our Domo nylon range. The heavy glass reinforcement delivers near-metal levels of stiffness and dimensional stability, while food-contact certification opens it up to regulated food-handling and processing applications.

Typical propertiesDensity ~1.55–1.6 g/cm³, typical for 50% glass-filled PA6; very high stiffness and heat deflection temperature versus unfilled or lower-glass grades; food-contact compliance to relevant EU/FDA regulations — confirm the exact certificate and datasheet figures against the current Domo TDS before specifying.
ApplicationsFood-processing equipment components, high-stiffness structural parts, gears and precision mechanical components.
BrandDomo

PA6 50% GF Recycled Black

50% glass-filled PA6 with recycled content, black, supplied under our Domo nylon range. Combines the stiffness and dimensional stability of a high glass loading with a lower-footprint recycled base polymer — a cost-effective, more sustainable option where a fully virgin or food-contact specification isn't required.

Typical propertiesMechanical performance broadly in line with virgin 50% glass-filled PA6 (high stiffness, elevated HDT); some batch-to-batch variability typical of recycled-content compounds; black colouring suits non-cosmetic structural parts.
ApplicationsStructural automotive and industrial components, non-visible housings and brackets where full virgin-grade certification isn't required.
BrandDomo

PA6 AQUAMID Unfilled Black

Unfilled PA6 in black, from Aquafil's Aquamid range. Shares the same base mechanical profile as natural unfilled PA6 grades, with black pigmentation for parts where colour, UV masking or a cosmetic black finish is needed straight off the mould.

Typical propertiesDensity ~1.13 g/cm³; typical unfilled PA6 tensile strength, elongation and notched impact performance; moisture-sensitive properties as standard for unfilled PA6.
ApplicationsGeneral engineering components, enclosures, clips and fasteners where a black finish is specified.
BrandAquafil

PA6 AQUAMID AQPL27000N Unfilled - Food Grade

Unfilled, food-grade PA6 from Aquafil's Aquamid range, formulated for direct or indirect food contact applications. Per Aquafil's published technical data, this grade has a melting point of approximately 221°C with heat deflection temperatures of around 175°C (0.45 MPa) and 65°C (1.80 MPa).

Typical propertiesMelting point ~221°C; crystallisation temperature ~188°C; HDT-B (0.45 MPa) ~175°C; HDT-A (1.80 MPa) ~65°C — figures per Aquafil's published technical data sheet; confirm current certification status before specifying for a food-contact application.
ApplicationsFood-contact components, food-processing equipment parts, packaging-adjacent mechanical parts.

PA6 POLIMID PLV NAT (Powder) (Standard Viscosity 2.7)

Natural PA6 powder from Poliblend's Polimid range, standard viscosity (RV ~2.7). Supplied as a fine powder rather than pellet, this grade is intended for rotational moulding and fluidised-bed or electrostatic powder coating processes rather than conventional injection moulding.

Typical propertiesRelative viscosity ~2.7 (standard viscosity for this powder range); fine, controlled particle size distribution for even powder deposition; density and mechanical performance broadly in line with standard-viscosity PA6 once processed.
ApplicationsPowder coating of metal components, rotational moulding, sintered and fluidised-bed coated parts.

PA6 POLIMID PLV NAT V2.4 (Powder) (Fast Cycle Viscosity 2.4)

Natural PA6 powder from Poliblend's Polimid range, at a lower viscosity (RV ~2.4) than the standard PLV grade. The reduced viscosity improves flow and fusion speed during powder processing, shortening cycle times where throughput matters more than the slightly higher toughness of the standard-viscosity powder.

Typical propertiesRelative viscosity ~2.4, lower than the standard 2.7 grade, for faster fusion and flow; shorter cycle times in powder coating and rotomoulding processes; mechanical performance close to the standard-viscosity powder, with a modest trade-off in toughness.
ApplicationsHigh-throughput powder coating and rotational moulding processes where cycle time is critical.
